Accessibility Statement

(in compliance with Article 3-bis of Law no. 4, dated 9 January 2004)

COSWELL SPA VAT No.:00708541206 is committed to making its product accessible in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 106 dated 10 August 2018. This accessibility statement applies to the website: https://www.coswell.biz/en/home

Compliance status

This website does Not comply with the requirements set out in Appendix A of the technical standard UNI EN 301549:2018 (which corresponds to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1), due to the non-compliance cases listed below.

Inaccessible content

  • Non-compliance details
    1. The website does not include documentation with information about its ICT accessibility and compatibility features, which makes it difficult for users to understand how to use and activate them, when required. This can limit access to certain functionalities for people with specific needs.
    2. Many pages include images with no text alternatives and some of the images contain text that is not included in a way that is visible on the page, so assistive technologies cannot read the content describing them.
    3. On most pages, the structure of and relationships between the elements are not always defined programmatically or supported by text alternatives. There are also syntactical errors or invalid markings that prevent assistive technologies from correctly interpreting webpage contents and functionalities. Lastly, several interactive elements fail to communicate their name, role, or value correctly, which hinders accessibility for people using screen readers or other assistive devices.
    4. In some pages, like the homepage, "Our history" and "Our brands", keyboard navigation is not fully supported. Some elements cannot be accessed without a mouse pointer (for example the Deloitte pop-up window in the homepage) and the keyboard focus indicator is never visible, which makes orientation difficult. In all the pages, the navigation sequence and content reading are not always in a logical and programmable order, which makes information hard to understand. In the homepage, the interactive elements do not always receive focus in an order that ensures correct meaning and operation.
    5. On the "Ethics and sustainability” page, there is an instruction based exclusively on sensory characteristics, like color, shape or element positioning, which makes it difficult to understand for anyone using assistive technologies or with visual impairment. The lack of alternative text descriptions hinders accessibility and can obstruct navigation.
    6. Color is the only identifier used to transmit information; for example, on all the pages, links are marked as such, only by the color of the font. The contrast ratio between text color and background color is also not always at least 4.5:1, and the contrast ratio of the graphic elements is not at least 3.1:1 in relation to the color or adjacent colors.
    7. In some pages, the text cannot be resized up to 200% without losing contents or functionalities. The content also does not adapt correctly to different screen sizes. Lastly, the website does not fully satisfy all the WCAG 2.1, level AA requirements, which undermines the accessibility of certain pages or functionalities for people with disabilities.
    8. The homepage includes an automatic animation that cannot be stopped or hidden. This can create difficulties for people who need more time to read the information or are sensitive to moving contents.
    9. Some pages in the website do not have titles that describe or are consistent with their content, and do not always use headings and labels that are clear and meaningful. This makes it difficult for users, especially those using assistive technologies, to understand the page topic, content structure, and use of forms quickly. As a result, user orientation and navigating between website sections are less efficient, which compromises accessibility and information access.
    10. There are links on nearly all the web pages that do not provide clear information about their purpose. This makes it difficult for users to understand where they lead if they have not read the surrounding context. Some links are also not properly labeled (by name and/or role) in the code, which prevents assistive technologies from interpreting them correctly. This can create difficulties for blind people or those using screen readers.
    11. In some pages, there are not always at least two ways of identifying a Web page. For example, through a list of linked pages, a table of contents, a sitemap, a site search function (free search), or a list of all the web pages available. This can make it difficult for some users to find the information they need quickly.
    12. On certain pages, some interactive components have a different name (name attribute) to the visually presented text (text labels or text images). This can create difficulties for people using assistive technologies or voice input tools, which makes interaction with the website less intuitive.
    13. In some cases, without giving clear prior indication, the interface triggers unexpected context changes when the user alters a setting or interacts with certain components (for example, when a language is changed, the page reloads and returns to the top). This can disorient people who use assistive technologies or navigate exclusively via keyboard commands, and this makes functionalities more difficult to understand and use.

COSWELL SPA VAT No.:00708541206 is currently implementing the updates needed to ensure full compliance with accessibility requirements.
